Adega Cordélia

Cordélia treats a wine collection as a display visible from every side. A glass enclosure surrounds a steel rack with 156 bottle positions, while the doors and transparent ceiling keep the structure visually open. Imbuia burl hardwood grounds the piece in its base, top supports, corner joinery and handles.

Process

I led the design, execution and installation. UV-bonded tempered glass is held by machined imbuia components, and the bottle rack is fixed through the solid wooden base. The glass front edge remains exposed at the top, keeping the enclosure light.
